Our Work

Digital Inclusion Whanganui develops and tests practical responses to digital exclusion in Whanganui. Our work starts with local experience — understanding where people encounter barriers, what kinds of support help, and what wider systems or services may need to change.

Practical digital help

We explore approaches to digital help that build confidence, understanding and independence rather than simply taking over and fixing the problem. This includes one-to-one support, community-based help and the continuing development of SENSE — Safe, Educated, Navigating, Secure.

Safe access to essential online services

We examine what happens when people need help using essential online services such as government, banking and identity services — including where authentication, privacy and security requirements can make safe assistance difficult.

Digital inclusion and older people

We are developing and testing approaches to personalised digital help for older people, with particular attention to confidence, accessibility, independence and the practical realities of using digital services.

How we work

We listen to local experience, test practical approaches, gather evidence and learning, and connect what we find with organisations and people who can help improve digital participation.
